In these tough times, we need leaders who are completely devoted to the interests of their district, who will fight for our fair share. I believe I am such a leader. I was born in Puerto Rico, attended New York City public schools, served in the U.S. Air Force and earned degrees from Columbia and Harvard.
As your City Council Member, I pledge that I will:
Put the Bronx first! The Bronx has never gotten its fair share of the City’s budget.
Use my experience to create real jobs, bring economic development to our community.
Find better ways of balancing the budget by targeting government waste and inefficiency - not by putting the burden on the backs of working people.
Fight against any cutbacks in police, fire or sanitation services.
Stand up for our children: it is not enough to announce new programs and create new bureaucracies - our children need a good education today.
Say no to tuition increases, fare hikes, unreasonable rent and property tax increases, and other "revenue enhancers" that disproportionately hurt our families.
